The US Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center in Twentynine Palms was sealed off after reports of gunfire

TWENTYNINE PALMS, Calif. (KABC) — The U.S. Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center in Twentynine Palms has been placed under lockdown following reports of gunfire being fired, officials said Monday.

The following message was posted on Battle Center’s verified Twitter account:

“We have received reports of gunfire being fired aboard MCAGCC. The MCAGCC Provost Marshals Office is currently responding to the situation. The installation has entered a lockdown and all staff are required to take shelter in place. We will release updates as they become available.”

Further Twitter posts said that the reports received shortly before 9 a.m. were anonymous.

Further details were not immediately available.
