HBO has issued the following travel advisory: The White Lotus will start welcoming guests back in just over a month.
The premium cabler announced Friday that Mike White’s Emmy-winning resort-set dark comedy will return for its second season on Sunday, October 30.
Season 2 will be set in Sicily, at a different White Lotus resort, and will feature a whole host of new guests, aside from Jennifer Coolidge’s Tanya and Jon Gries’ Greg.
Michael Imperioli, Aubrey Plaza, Sabrina Impacciatore, Will Sharpe, Tom Hollander, Meghann Fahy, Adam DiMarco, Haley Lu Richardson, Theo James, Leo Woodall and F. Murray Abraham are among the actors joining the Season 2 cast.
“I think people will like it [Season 2], based on the scenes I’ve seen other people do,” Coolidge said in a recent interview with TVLine. “I think people are going to be really captivated.”
Coolidge commented on Season 2 while fleshing out Deadline: “[It] feels very different…almost like a different show. It’s even more complicated than the first one.”
In an interview with TVLine last summer, White shared his desire to potentially bring back some Season 1 favorites. “I don’t think you can believe that [all the Season 1 guests] again on the same vacation,” he explained. “But maybe it could be some kind of Marvel Universe thing where some of them would come back. We’ve only signed one-year deals with the actors, so we’d have to figure out who’s even available.”
The White Lotus He recently received 10 Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Limited Series, for his acclaimed first season.
