There are several chances of rain this week; cool front during the week

Columbus, Georgia (WRBL)- Most areas will remain dry this Monday afternoon, but a few showers and thunderstorms will bubble up along a stalled front. After sunset the showers will start to dry up so it will stay dry overnight.

A similar pattern can be expected tomorrow. It will remain dry for the first half of the day, but the chance of rain will increase as temperatures warm later in the afternoon. Highs will warm into the lower 90s, but some areas will fail to get above the upper 80s.

This pattern will persist until a cool front moves in Wednesday evening/Thursday morning. This will provide a brief break in rain at the end of the week, but showers will return to the first alert forecast this weekend. After the front passes, temperatures will cool back down to over 80°C.

Tracking the Tropics: Hurricane Lee has strengthened back into Category 3 since the 11 a.m. update, and models show Lee is expected to fall to Category 4 tomorrow morning. As this storm moves westward, the cool front moving through midweek will actually help push this storm northward. It is still too early to tell what threat Hurricane Lee poses to landfall.
