The fifth episode of Harry Potter, order of the phoenix, is one of the most beautiful excursions in JK Rowlings best selling series. The film is known for its catapulting switch to Harry’s main conflict against Voldemort and for bringing the latter’s menace to the wizarding world. Featuring new characters, more magic, and much more immersive wand duels, Order of the Phoenix took the franchise to new heights of adventure.

Unfortunately, this film also suffered from a mysterious plot hole. In the film, when Harry arrives at Hogwarts, he and his friends meet up Luna Lovegood. The strange girl is charming and intelligent and, like Harry, can see the Thestrals driving their cars. Up until this moment, Harry was unaware of these creatures. Later, when Harry confronts Luna privately, she tells him that only a person who witnessed death can see Thestrals. Luna saw her mother die, which made Thestrals visible to her. It is implied in the film that Harry can see her because he witnessed Cedric’s murder the previous year.
