A series of new photos taken on set during filming of the sixth and final season of The crownwhich premieres on November 16, have hinted at how the series will tackle the climactic tragedy of Princess Diana’s death in a traffic accident in Paris in 1997.
Season 5 ended with Elizabeth Debicki packing Diana to go on vacation with Harrods heir Dodi al-Fayed, and Season 6 begins with Diana on that vacation while Prince Charles (played by Dominic West) with her sons Prince William in Scotland is (Rufus Kampa) and Prince Harry (Fflyn Edwards).

While Diana enjoys a more glamorous and decidedly sunnier vacation, she is with Dodi in the south of France en route to his yacht (which recently sank in real life).
Executive producer Suzanne Mackie Netflix said: “From the second she steps on the boat and [you begin to see] Some of those iconic images of her on the yacht immediately take one into the whirlwind that has been speculation in the press about this romance.

Elizabeth Debicki plays Diana while Khalid Abdalla plays Dodi. Abdalla said the research team collected photos to chronicle their romance, adding: “Their relationship lasted six weeks from start to finish. That’s one of the things that shocks people a lot.”
Dodi’s socially ambitious father Mohammed is played by Salim Daw.
He told Netflix website Tudum: “Momo al-Fayed had his point of view and he wants his son to be exactly what he wants. And in Dodi’s head he has a different opinion and a different point of view.”
