AUSTIN, Texas – Philanthropist and personal injury attorney Thomas J Henry distributed school supplies together with the non-profit organization TEXAS YES at Del Valle ISDs Hillcrest Elementary School Friday morning.
The event, which ran from 9:45 am to 10:45 am, is from TEXAS YES’ Box of Dreams program. The initiative gives first-graders at primary school the school materials they need free of charge.
“TEXAS YES understands the urgent need for school supplies, especially with rising inflationary prices,” organizers said in a press release.
Each kit distributed at the event contained items such as:
TEXAS YES is a 501(c)(3) registered non-profit organization dedicated to providing students with the educational resources necessary to achieve long-term academic success.
“Since 1998, we have provided students and teachers at Title 1 schools with school supply kits, STEAM development grants and more,” the organization said. “Over the years, more than $4 million has been returned to our communities through the distribution of school supplies, student scholarships, school and nonprofit educational grants, and access to books.”
