actor TK Kirkland recently shared his thoughts following the episodes of Tory Lanez’ Convicted of three counts arising out of his attack on Megan Thee Stallion.
In the summer of 2020, Tory was accused of shooting Megan in the foot after the couple left a party at Kylie Jenner’s house. When the shooting was first reported, only limited details were provided. But the December 2022 criminal case revealed the altercation came after a heated argument between Megan, Tory and the “Savage” rapper’s then-best friend Kelsey Harris.
The fight was reportedly due to Tory Lanez being physically intimate with both women. Before and after the trial began, Tory denied the shooting allegations, although he admitted to having had a scandalous love triangle with Megan and Kelsey. According to CNN, Tory would eventually be found guilty of three felonies, including “assault with a semi-automatic firearm, carrying a loaded unregistered firearm in a vehicle, and recklessly surrendering a firearm.”
On December 29, TK spoke about the process during an interview with DJ Vlad. During the discussion, the Ukrainian journalist shared his opinion that the case between Megan and Tory turned into a circus because both rappers shared their accounts of that night’s events on their social media pages and in their music, which led to that the fans decided on a side before the process even started.
DJ Vlad also commented on Megan’s interview with Gayle King and said he believes the 27-year-old was telling the truth Not to be intimate with Tory and that this shows the importance of speaking publicly about a legal position until after the outcome of the trial.
Following DJ Vlad’s comments, TK shared that the “Body” lyricist’s attempt to clean up what appeared to be a chaotic situation didn’t work in their favor. He said,
“Once you go on the news to defend yourself, you’re done.”
When DJ Vlad stressed towards the end of the clip that public opinion didn’t seem to matter in this case and the jury seemed to have assessed the situation correctly, TK agreed, adding that the jury convicted Tory based on the facts of the case.
“Well, the facts are facts. You can’t do things based on opinions. But what I hear from what you told me. It was a smart jury. You didn’t let the bs fool you. You stuck to the facts.”
Although Tory has been found guilty, he has yet to be convicted. The moderator of “Say It” faces up to 22 years in prison.
