Today’s Wordle #840 tips, hints and answers for Saturday October 7th puzzle

When New York-based software developer Josh Wardle developed Wordle during the coronavirus pandemic, he simply wanted a game “that would be fun for me and my partner.”
Wardle decided to release Wordle to the general public in October 2021. It quickly became a global sensation, with players around the world taking part and, in many cases, sharing their results via social media. In January 2022, Wordle was purchased by The New York Times for an undisclosed low seven-figure sum, although the game remained free.
In an interview with NewsweekErhan Aslan, an applied linguistics expert who teaches at the University of Reading in the United Kingdom, offered some advice to Wordle players.
Aslan said: “One thing I think is important in this game is the starting word chosen. It might be helpful to start with words that contain common vowels like e and a, consonants like r and t, and sound sequences.” .

“Choosing a word that starts with q, z, j, or x, for example, may not be the best choice. Because you get more feedback after a few guesses, users need to draw on some knowledge of phonetics to narrow down or eliminate some words they might be thinking,” Aslan added.
The answer to today’s puzzle will be revealed at the end of this article. So scroll down carefully if you want to find out for yourself.
