“To every rape victim who is re-traumatized by society’s debate and focuses their attention on what will happen to the RAPIST… I see you.” ❤️” Hinshaw, 34, wrote via her Instagram Story on Friday, September 8.
Masterson, 47, was sentenced to 30 years to life in prison on Wednesday, September 6, following his retrial on sexual assault charges earlier this year. In May he was found guilty of two counts of rape. (He first stood trial in November 2022, which ended in a mistrial after the jury deadlocked on a unanimous decision.)
Masterson was arrested and charged with three counts of rape in 2020 after multiple women accused him of assault in the early 2000s. At the time, he vehemently denied the allegations.
“From day one, I have rejected the outrageous allegations against me. Law enforcement investigated these claims more than 15 years ago and found them to be without merit,” Masterson said Us weekly in a statement from December 2017. “I have never been charged with, let alone convicted of, a crime. In this country there is a presumption of innocence until proven guilty. However, in the current climate it seems as if you are found guilty the moment you are accused.”

After Masterson’s scandal, he was written off The ranch. He starred in the Netflix show along with colleagues That 70’s show alum Ashton Kutcher. Despite the on-camera exit, Masterson remained close to Kutcher, 45, and his wife. Mila Kunis. Kutcher and the 40-year-old actress, who met on set That 70’s show, even wrote letters of support on behalf of Masterson before the sentencing. In their notes, Kutcher and Kunis asked the judge for a more lenient sentence so Masterson could be a “current father” to his daughter Fianna. (Masterson shares the 9-year-old with his wife Bijou Phillips.)
fellow That 70’s show Stars Debra Jo Rupp And Kurtwood Smith, who played Grace’s on-screen parents, also wrote notes advocating for Masterson. Grace, 45, has not publicly commented on Masterson’s conviction.
Grace, who married Hinshaw in 2016, previously confessed that he “never saw any of this behavior” during his time there 70s show. “I feel like it sounds like I’m defending him, but the truth is I’ve never seen anything like that,” he previously said The Hollywood Reporter in 2018. “I was the most boring of this cast. When it came to going out and partying after the show, I was just boring.”
