Travel the world, visit every Disney theme park and ride every ride in just 12 days

LOS ANGELES (KABC) — A man from Atlanta, Georgia was pondering vacation options when he came up with a plan. Nathan Firesheets, 34, is an audiovisual systems engineer and programmer who loves theme parks.
Firesheets is no stranger to theme park challenges, but he recently completed the ultimate Disney challenge. He rode every operating ride at all 12 Disney parks around the world in just 12 days.
“It was a lot,” Firesheets said. “Looking back, I’m like, ‘I can’t believe I just did that.’ It’s just so crazy, so much travel, so much parking, but it really was an amazing experience.
He called it the Disney Global Challenge and Firesheets said it took him about a month to plan it. In just 12 days he visited all the parks: Paris, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Anaheim and Orlando.
He started the challenge on March 8th and finished it on March 19th. More than 20,000 miles around the world, and yes, the 12 days including travel time. Firesheets said he got an average of four to six hours of sleep a night.
“Part of it just has to do with fatigue,” Firesheets said. “I had to deal with some frustration with some riding things, there were some weather issues. The low point was definitely sleeping through all my alarms in California and just getting off on the wrong foot that day.”
In all, Firesheets ran 216 rides and videoed each one. He documented his trip on Twitter with photos. He said the highlights of the trip were the amazing performers and the support he received in person and online along the way.
“Absolutely, the cast really made the journey what it was,” Firesheets said. “All that support and encouragement has been amazing. I don’t think I could have gotten through some of the points below without everyone saying, ‘You can do it. Come on.’ It was really amazing to have all that encouragement and support.”
When asked what his favorite park is, he said nothing beats what originally was the happiest place on earth.
“I’m a classic Disneyland fan,” Firesheets said. “He has the most history. It’s the only park Walt actually entered. He still has 11 attractions on opening day. There is so much history, nostalgia.
