Two people were injured in a shooting at a mall in Rosemont, Illinois, forcing shoppers to flee.

Police are still at the scene at Chicago’s fashion outlets, although no suspect has been identified, according to ABC7.

After multiple reports of gunfire being fired, Rosemont Public Safety issued a statement via Twitter.

“Caution: No shooter is active at the moment.” A single shootout broke out inside the mall.

“Two confirmed gunshot victims were taken to hospital. The empty spaces of the mall are currently being searched. “The culprit is nowhere to be found.”

Friends and family will be reunited at the Caddy Shack restaurant, according to a follow-up tweet.

Many customers used Twitter to express their dissatisfaction with their shopping experience.

One user tweeted, “I was having dinner in the food court at the Fashion Outlets in Rosemont when I heard 6 gunshots.”

“Some people, including myself, ran to the locked exit doors. “We raced to the other exit where we were safe.”
