US-19 North closed in Hudson after motorcyclist dies in crash

HUDSON, Fla. (WFLA) — Northbound US-19 is “completely closed” in Hudson due to a fatal accident, the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office said.
Northbound lanes are closed on Stahl Drive a twitter post from the sheriff’s office. Traffic will be diverted at Puffin Drive.
According to a statement from the Florida Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 3 p.m. A southbound motorcycle crossed the median and crashed head-on into a sedan.
The motorcyclist, a 59-year-old man from Seminole, died at the scene of the accident. FHP said he was not wearing a helmet.
The driver of the limousine, a 22-year-old woman from Spring Hill, was not injured in the accident. FHP said investigators didn’t know why the motorcyclist swerved into oncoming traffic.
There is no information on when the northbound lanes of US-19 will reopen.
