Vehicle with occupants submerged in water, no injuries reported

At 11:12 a.m. on November 24, ATCEMS tweeted that a vehicle carrying a person was submerged in a body of water. Medics were called to Walter E. Long Metropolitan Park to assist in the rescue.
In addition to paramedics, firefighters of the Fire Department Austin (AFD) were called to the scene of the accident to help extricate the person from their vehicle. AFD donned personal flotation devices and gained access to the person.
At 1129 the person was reached by AFD and was able to get out of the water. Transport to the hospital is being determined, but this information has not yet been released.
