After urging parents to “stand back” against the “sexualization” of children, Tucker Carlson is becoming angered online after old clips of the Fox News personality downplayed two incidents of female teachers assaulting teenage males students molested.
Two left-leaning Twitter accounts on Thursday posted clips of performances in which Carlson minimized two high-profile stories of sexual contact between teachers and underage students. The clips resurfaced days after Carlson denounced what he called the overt sexualization of children, which critics said encouraged violence against the LGBTQ community and educators.
The Serfs, a news commentary podcast, tweeted a partial transcript of an April 2006 performance Carlson made at the bubba the love sponge show, a Florida-based radio program. During the social exchange, the two discussed a case in Delaware in which a teacher was accused of having sex with a 13-year-old student 28 times in one week.
ChudsOfTikTok, a Twitter account often critical of conservatives, also posted a link to an audio recording of the interview.
“When a 13-year-old boy is 35, he can hardly remember the girls he slept with when he was 13,” Carlson said on the show.
Carlson later added, “So my point is that teachers like this one, not necessarily this one in particular, but are doing all 13-year-old girls a service by relieving the pressure. They’re a pressure relief valve, like the kind you have on your stove.
The following year, elementary school science teacher Rachel L. Holt was sentenced to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to second-degree rape.
ChudsOfTikTok also posted video of a 2014 Fox News segment in which Carlson defended a teacher who gave a 15-year-old boy a lap dance in front of his class.
Carlson said “legitimate opinions split” over whether the lap dance was appropriate, and shocked his other Fox News panelists by saying, “There’s no sacrifice here,” adding, “This is a 15-year-old boy’s dream.” “
Both of Carlson’s comments had previously been criticized by left-leaning media outlets Matters of America, Salon and others.
Carlson ran a segment on Tuesday on his Fox News show criticizing a transgender teacher, showing her with large prosthetic breasts, who had been speaking to her students about LGBTQ issues. The show also targeted healthcare workers who perform gender-affirming surgeries on transgender people who have experienced harassment.
“What you see is a society that hates children,” Carlson said. “You would have to hate children to sexualize them.”
He added: “Sexualizing kids screw them up for life – ask anyone this has happened to – period. Nobody should put up with that.”
“Tucker Carlson, who is currently a strong advocate for protecting children by attacking children’s hospitals with harassment and bomb threats, says teachers who sleep with their students are ‘doing us a service,'” Twitter user Asmodean responding to one of the uncovered clips.
Jordan Chariton, CEO of progressive media group Status Coup, responded with a tweet saying, “Tucker Carlson is pro-groomer,” referring to a term conservatives have used to accuse opponents of sexualizing children.
