“Wakanda Forever” grossed $400 million at the box office

A week has passed since then Black Panther: Wakanda Forever was released and the film just hit another milestone at the box office. If this continues, the sequel could surpass the original film from 2018 by the end of 2022.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Marvel’s latest blockbuster has grossed more than $400 million at the global box office. If we break down the numbers, $231.2 million came from the film’s domestic release. Meanwhile, $187.2 million was earned overseas. Hollywood Reporter predicts that Black Panther: Wakanda Forever could surpass $550 million by the end of this weekend as it expects to gross another $70 million domestically.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever was praised for being a standalone Marvel film with no “multiverse” story plots. The film managed to pay tribute to the late actor Chadwick Boseman, who died in 2020, while continuing the main story of the MCU. Over on Rotten Tomatoes, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever was highly acclaimed by both critics and audiences, with average scores of 84 and 95 percent, respectively.
Fans have also recognized Angela Bassett’s spectacular performance and it has been reported that she may be a candidate for an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress. If she does, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever would be the first MCU film to receive an Academy nomination.
At the moment there is no news if Black Panther receives the third film. The film’s director, Ryan Coogler, told press that he had “no idea” what he was going to do next. However, the film credits have indicated that the Black Panther will be back. We just don’t know when and where.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is now in cinemas.
