Wakanda Forever’ star becomes the latest MCU alumni to call for a Spider-Man team

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is filled with young geniuses now that Phase 4 is complete, and a large chunk of teenage superheroes have been introduced. We (as well as Letizia Wrightapparently) are still awaiting a definite team-up between the franchise’s originally gifted youngsters yet to take place.

That Black Panther: Wakanda Forever actress tells NME that the only collaboration she’s waiting for is between her character Shuri and Tom Holland’s Peter Parker. Both were once suggested as Tony Stark’s successors in the Avengers thanks to their above-average intelligence, leading to debates as to who was the smarter of the two.

Making that decision would be futile if we could just get them together as a team, much like Tony and Bruce were in their prime, and Wright seems to agree.

“Oh man it’s not set in stone or anything but I definitely want to work with Tom Holland,” said the British actress. The two actors emerged on the British film and television scene more or less simultaneously before their careers exploded thanks to their respective Marvel performances.

As off-set friends, Wright and Holland would work great together on screen. “I think he’s just stupid. It would be really cool to see a mashup between him and Shuri,” the actress concluded.

Holland was introduced in the 2016 MCU Captain America: Civil Warfollowed in by Wright a few years later Black Panther. Since then, following the gradual departure of the original Avengers and the introduction of Shuri as the new Black Panther in 2022, they have become two of the most important characters in the superhero universe Wakanda forever.

Even though they were both inside Infinite War and endgame, Peter and Shuri never shared any scenes together. Their individual arcs beg for a new leading duo of the Avengers Avengers: The Kang DynastyRelease in 2025.

Come on Marvel, it’s been a long time coming!
