James Gunn could turn the current negative narrative on its head at some point in the future, but to be associated with Joss Whedon, even to the extent of rumors and no more, is a shame that the Guardians of the Galaxy Filmmakers may never live downstairs.

Speaking of justice league and the drama it entails, Warner Bros. recently blocked a charity screening of the film in Ireland to ensure everyone knew the type of company that produces their favorite superhero films and television shows.

The last of us on HBO is definitely an adaptation that will continue for the foreseeable future. Warner Bros. doesn’t have the best reputation as far as movie audiences are concerned with such things, and while the company is at least partially aware that it’s shooting itself in the foot by blocking a recent Zack Snyders charity screening justice league. As might be expected, some people on Twitter have been picking up pitchforks. Some even question James Gunn’s authority and wonder if things will be like this when he properly runs the DCU. Then again, Gunn takes flak these days to keep his breathing steady, so that’s hardly surprising anymore.

An unreliable rumor recently seemed to indicate that James Gunn and Joss Whedon had met to discuss the next 10 years of the DCU. Given what fans think of Whedon following his abuse justice league – and that’s putting it mildly – they don’t know what to make of the prospects of this potential partnership. Now, a few days later, some people on social media are linking Whedon’s worst creative trait, cheesy dialogue, to Gunn and how he deals with it in his films.
