Wendy Williams promoted “Real Housewives of New York City”.

Andy Cohens new book, The Daddy Diaries: The Year I Growing UpIt’s all about his latest adventures as a father. Between stories about changing diapers and welcoming baby number two into the world, the Bravo boss was able to fit in a whole host of stories about the housewives. One of the most surprising tidbits he revealed in the book was an anecdote about the time Wendy Williams called Andy to lobby for it Real Housewives of New York City.

How are you’?

It’s hard to imagine a world where Wendy, the talk show and radio legend, is holding an apple RHONY. But it could have happened. In the book, Andy explained that Wendy called him to discuss a role on RHONY. That call came after he announced the news about the show I’m looking for a completely new cast for season 14 and sending the OGs to the unfortunate legacy show. When Wendy wanted to join the circus, the timing just wasn’t right.

“If that call had come a year earlier, it would have been a brilliant idea,” Andy explained in the book. “However, if she is struggling with mental health issues, this is not the time. Her enthusiasm was contagious, but when I explained the idea of Legacy and the brand new series to her, she just wanted to focus on the final version. So the conversation went nowhere.”

Too bad the conversation didn’t get far. Can you imagine if that were the case and Wendy’s big return to television would be through the Real Housewives of New York City? Wendy would bring the shade, the fashion, and the theatrics, but that’s probably too much chaos for a single TV show.

Wendy’s RHONY pitch wasn’t the first time she’s attempted to break into the Housewives franchise. Before Bravo officially announced that Real Housewives of Miami reboot, Wendy said on her talk show that she would like to join the show as a friend Larsa Pippen. So since she didn’t end up on RHONY, there may still be hope that we’ll see her in Miami for a cameo.

In the meantime, the brand new cast of The Real Housewives of New York City is ready for their big debut. Season 14 premieres on July 16th on Bravo.
