WEST HOLLYWOOD, Calif. (KABC) — For the first time in years, one of Southern California’s wildest and most famous public Halloween parties is back.
West Hollywood’s Halloween Carnival has returned to a one-mile stretch of Santa Monica Boulevard for the first time since before the pandemic.
Normally thousands of people take part in the outdoor celebrations, and on Tuesday afternoon many people could be seen in costume, including Ken, Elvis, Queen Elizabeth and many others.
Food trucks are parked along the street and DJs play music on outdoor stages.
Partygoers are looking forward to the return of carnival.
“It means everything to me,” said participant Sean Williams. “It’s about community. It’s about leadership, camaraderie, honor, respect. And above all, it’s about creativity.”
The West Hollywood Halloween Carnival takes place on Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. on Santa Monica Boulevard between N. Doheny Drive and N. La Cienega Boulevard. For details on the rules and what not to bring, see the Carnival website.
