Nobody ever stays dead for long western world, but Evan Rachel Woods Dolores seems to have reached the end of the road as the actor now plays a new character in Season 4.

Wood portrays Christina, a character who shares very similar traits with Dolores—aside from the fact that Wood plays both—but appears to be her own person.

Christina is a writer living in the real world, and while she wakes up just like Dolores once did, she certainly comes across as human as she goes to work in her routine and comes home where she lives with her friend Maya (Ariana DeBose). , just like anyone else would.

Wood considered taking on the new role News Week: “It was bittersweet. In a way I felt like I was playing a different character each season because Dolores is always evolving and we always see different sides of her and her experiences shape her in different ways.

“But that was really a wiping of the slate, [a] totally new character, so there was something exciting about playing a much more human version of that character.

“And usually even my movements [as Dolores] are just so controlled and precise. It was fun to make it a little messier, a little less perfect.”

Wood added that she based some of Christina’s mannerisms on the show’s co-creator Lisa Joy, who joked in the same interview that Wood would imitate her because she used her hands a lot.

Speaking to Joy, Wood added: “It really is when you’re describing something that really means something to you and you’re painting a picture for someone else that you’re doing [move your hands]. I built that into the character.”

Joy then chimed in, “You know, my favorite thing, I haven’t told you that Evan, is that it’s so funny because Evan is such a chameleon and she can dial in and pick herself, you can.” always feeling like a grain of something emotional that is very real in their performance.

“But this season there’s another thing that’s so Evan is, and that’s when [her] Character laughs I hear [her]. It’s like, ‘There she is, there’s my girl. She laughs!’ And it’s so human and so alive, and it’s so funny to hear because Dolores’ laugh before is completely different.”

Wood agreed as she said: “Absolutely, yes. Even the crew members were shocked to see me, my character, smiling and laughing, it was disarming.”

Of course this being western world, It doesn’t seem likely that Christina is completely detached from Dolores, despite what Wood has said about the character.

Woods Dolores appears to have died after her memory was wiped at the end of Season 3, but that doesn’t mean she couldn’t have returned somehow and Christina just doesn’t realize her true identity.

The fact that James Marsden is back western world After its host character Teddy Flood joins The Sublime in Season 2, it also suggests that there’s more to Christina than meets the eye.

Westworld Season 4 airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on HBO, and episodes are available to stream on HBO Max.
