Where to Watch Top Gun: Maverick Starring Tom Cruise – Streaming on Paramount Plus

They feel the need, the need to stream — and Top Gun: Maverick will finally be available for just that when the blockbuster film hits Paramount+ Thursday, December 22nd, seven months after its theatrical debut on May 27th.

Normally, the theatrical exclusivity window for Paramount Pictures releases is 120 days. top gun Go frontman Tom Cruise had argued against it loner, which was originally slated for a June 2020 release and was ready to go straight to streaming – which was clearly the right call. But when the film finally hit theaters and was a tremendous hit, Paramount reportedly tried to reach out to Cruise to negotiate a shorter theatrical window.

Directed by Joseph Kosinski, it is set 36 years after the events of Tony Scott’s groundbreaking film top gun, lonerThe domestic box office to date is $717 million, making it the fifth highest-grossing film of all time.

Still (in theory) in the crosshairs of high-octane drama avatar (grossing $760.5 million domestically), Spider-Man: No Way Home ($804.7 million), Avengers: Endgame ($858.3 million) and Star Wars VIII: The Force Awakens ($936.6 million).

Top Gun: MaverickThe worldwide box-office hit, meanwhile, has topped $1.5 billion as of November 22, making it the 11th highest-grossing film of all time.

The Cruise-led blockbuster was released digitally the week of August 22 (purchase only) and released on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD on November 1.
