Rapper Eazy-E is considered one of the founding members of the legendary hip-hop group NWA. He died in 1995, just a month after being diagnosed with HIV/AIDS. Eazy-E left behind children and a wife, whom he married just weeks before his death.
Eazy-E and the members of NWA are often hailed as one of the most controversial acts in music history. The group, which also includes Arabian Prince, Ice Cube, DJ Yella, Dr. Dre and MC Ren rose to rapid fame after the release of their debut album Straight Outta Compton. The record peaked at number 4 Billboard 200and produced tracks like “F–k tha Police.” The NWA remained active until 1991 and its members later pursued solo careers.

Eazy-E continued working on music until his death in 1995, his second album being released posthumously. In an interview with billboardIce Cube addressed Eazy-E’s influence and stated that he is an irreplaceable part of the NWA. “Without Eazy-E, the NWA wouldn’t have existed. There’s no doubt in my mind,” Ice said. “He was brave and wasn’t afraid of anything. He was 21, 22, I was 16 – to me he was fearless.”
And while it’s clear that Eazy-E left his mark on the hip-hop industry, he also left a lasting legacy. He reportedly fathered eleven children during his life, some of whom followed in his musical footsteps.

Eazy-E, whose real name is Eric Lynn Wright, had his first son in 1984. Eric Darnell Wright, known as Lil Eazy-E, is a rapper himself. He was previously signed to Virgin Records and also appeared on WE TV Growing up hip hop. Additionally, Eric is the President of Rich and Ruthless record label.
