Who is Dagon and what is his domain expansion in Jujutsu Kaisen?

Jujutsu KaisenThe “Shibuya Incident” arc is undoubtedly one of the series’ best arcs – some would even say it’s the very best – and it’s easy to see why. Given the crazy fight scenes, unexpected resurrections, Choso’s mysterious fake memory, and the appearance of new characters, it’s easy to see why.
Dagon isn’t exactly a new character, as his debut took place in the fifth episode of the anime. However, it wasn’t until Season 2, Episode 14, “Fluctuations” that the character finally got his deserved screen time. Nanami, Maki, and Naobito may not have expected Dagon to put up such a strong fight when they first saw him (neither did we), but as it turns out, this antagonist spells trouble. But how much do we know about him? Well, not that much, but enough.
Who is Dagon in? Jujutsu Kaisen?

Until Fluctuations, Dagon was a cursed womb with a shy personality. That doesn’t mean he wouldn’t kill a fair number of people if the situation called for it, but for the most part he would stay away from the main events. However, once the character develops into a full-fledged cursed ghost, things take a turn.
After experiencing severe trauma and becoming angry with Naobito, Dagon reaches his full potential and becomes a worthy antagonist. His docile nature is gone and instead the character is revealed to be a more aggressive Bane, capable of holding his own against some incredibly strong opponents. Considering it’s a special curse, that’s no surprise.
However, Dagon’s power cannot be measured by his sheer strength alone. He also has great stamina, high tactical intellect, the ability to control and create water, and cast shikigami. Combined with its domain expansion, these factors contribute to making this cursed spirit a dangerous threat.
What is Dagon’s domain extension?

Dagon’s domain expansion is called “Horizon of the Captivating Skandha” and when activated, it traps his targets on a tropical island. If the circumstances weren’t dire for Dagon’s opponents, the domain would be the perfect vacation destination, but alas.
In his domain, there is no escaping or avoiding Dagon’s Shikigami as they are guaranteed to sink their teeth into their targets. However, whether their prey survives the attack or not is a completely different question. Nanami, Maki, and Naobito clearly struggled to get out of the domain alive, but who knows what would have happened to them without a little help?
All in all, Dagon doesn’t quite make it into the ranking of the strongest characters Jujutsu Kaisenbut there is no denying that he is a worthy opponent.
