Gen V takes the violent, dark lens of The Boys and refocuses it on the young people of the world. What’s it like to be a young Supe? How does it change your life? How do people react to you? The series follows Marie Moreau (Jaz Sinclair), a young woman with the power to control blood. When she joins Godolkin University, called “God U” by its students and faculty, she quickly realizes that things are not right. She and a small group of students join forces and bond over their shared suspicions and trauma as they try to get to the bottom of the corruption at the superhero school.
Each member of the cast represents some of the difficulties young people face in order to survive in the modern world. Just as Spider-Man constantly reminds us how much Peter Parker has to give up to be the guy with the coolest moves in Manhattan, Gen V never lets us forget the trauma and sacrifices its characters make, survive, or relive experience .
While Gen V grew out of a storyline in The Boys comic, the characters are not carried over directly from that story. This is a quick overview of Marie Moreau and the other main cast members of Gen V. Beware minor spoilers for Gen V Season 1, Episodes 1-6.
