Get the paddles because MagnumPI could only have a pulse.

magnumsSeason 4 averaged 7.3 million total viewers and a demo rating of 0.7 (with Live+7 playback), just a tad below Season 3 results (7.5 million/0.8) . Of the 14 dramas CBS has aired in the past TV season, it ranked 9th on both scales — albeit on both CSI: Vegas (6.8mil/0.8) and gossip (6.5m/0.8), which attracted smaller audiences, achieved renewals.

Deadline reported at the time that it was unable to reach an amicable new licensing deal with Universal TV because dwindling linear ratings are reducing a network’s willingness to pay. Kelly Kahl, president of CBS Entertainment, in turn told TVLine, “You have some difficult decisions to make and you have many factors — and I’m not going to rule [the licensing fee] out as one of them.”
