Developed by Jonathan Kasdan and based on characters by George Lucas, the highly anticipated sequel is set 20 years after Willow Ufgood (again played by Warwick Davis) and Sorsha (Joanne Whalley) defeated and saved the kingdom from Queen Bavmorda (Jean Marsh). Darkness in the 1988 fantasy drama.

Now, with a new evil threatening to take over their world, Sorsha’s daughter Kit (played by Ruby Cruz) and a ragtag group of young heroes set out in search of Willow, whom they believe to be their best hope.

Willow posterThe exclusive clip above gives us some fun hints as to what to expect from the show’s plot, but the real draw here is the slightly expanded look at the new cast. Tony Revolori (servant), Erin Kellyman (The Falcon and the Winter Soldier), Amar Chadha-Patel (third day) and Ellie Bamber (The snake) can all be seen in the background as Kit begs the already informed Willow to help them rescue her brother Erik (heartland‘s Dempsey Bryk), by insidious kidnappers.

It’s a nice, funny back-and-forth that does exactly what it’s supposed to do: get us excited for the premiere without giving away too much of what’s in store. (Also worth noting: they all look so good, and everything from the dialogue to the music to the set reminds us why the original film is still so popular.)
