Yellowstone finally releases the Season 5 trailer – did it confirm this popular fan theory?

yellowstone has finally released the trailer for season 5 and the fans are beyond excited. The comments section is filled with words like “best season yet”, “perfection” and “absolute fire” – making it clear that expectations are extremely high. The 90-second clip also confirmed a popular fan theory about the highly-anticipated Super-Size season.

The Yellowstone Season 5 trailer showed a lot but gave little away
All of the yellowstone The Favorites are back for Season 5 – including stars Kevin Costner (John Dutton), Kelly Reilly (Beth Dutton), Luke Grimes (Kayce Dutton), Wes Bentley (Jamie Dutton), Cole Hauser (Rip Wheeler) and Kelsey Asbille ( Monica Dutton).
Everyone appeared in the promo, along with the familiar ranch hands, members of the Broken Rock Reservation, and all Dutton enemies. The quickly edited, action-packed video promised plenty of drama and violence before ending with the caption, “Power comes with a price. What are the Duttons willing to pay?”
The trailer confirmed a popular fan theory
Showbiz Cheat Sheet previously speculated – along with many fans – that there would be a time jump between seasons 4 and 5. And the trailer confirms that’s exactly what happened.
Season 4 ended with John Dutton announcing his candidacy for governor of Montana and the new season begins with the election of the ranch owner. At least a year will have passed between seasons and it’s clear that John will be relentless and do whatever it takes to get his way. That includes firing everyone in the governor’s office and hiring his daughter as chief of staff.
The time jump became apparent after executive producer David Glasser told TV Insider that “episode one will immediately surprise everyone — where our story begins and what happened.”
Forrie J. Smith (Lloyd Pierce) showed up at a gala for animal rights group PetSet in Houston, telling KPRC2 Houston that “everybody’s going to be like, ‘What the hell?'” when the new season begins.
What’s more, stars Brecken Merrill (Tate Dutton) and Finn Little (Carter) have grown tremendously during the 18-month hiatus between seasons – with Little barely recognizable.
Things get tougher for the Duttons in Season 5 of Yellowstone
Reilly nearly leaked the time warp during an interview with Vulture last June, but stopped himself just in time. She explained that when John came up with the idea of running for governor in season 4, it was a light switch for Beth. And she noted that her character never expected her father to make that move because he’s “certainly not a politician.”
“But Beth understands that this is a way she can manipulate power to shut down the airport and market equities. So if he — I don’t know if I’m allowed to tell you that,” Reilly said before the interview asked if John would become governor.
“I will say that the bigger the kingdom gets, the more difficult it becomes to manage. Oddly enough, Beth is probably at her strongest early in Season 5. But how she goes about it will be interesting.”
yellowstone Season 5 kicks off Sunday, November 13th with a special two-hour event on the Paramount Network.
