“I’m going to regret it all,” John said in Sunday’s. yellowstone. And since “this” was taking advantage of Kayce, Monica and Tate’s presence in the big house by getting Beth and the living room contingent to join them – and Summer – for dinner in the dining room, you can bet the Patriarch of Dutton regretted it. How ugly did it get? Continue reading…
“YESTERDAY IS WHAT EATS ME” | When “Watch ‘Em Ride Away” started, John put off letting Beth scold him for commuting Summer’s sentence and her serving her house arrest her House just long enough to let Clara talk her out of canceling all his meetings so he could gallop off to brand cattle with the Bunkhouse boys. If he still wanted to invite the press over to show them what Yellowstone was really about, his assistant suggested he turn the spring meeting into an MEPP (manufactured event for political purposes) and a week of sit-downs in one day . “Upload me,” John said happily. That Clara, she’s good!
Over at Kayce and Monica’s, she didn’t realize until she found her husband in tears that she had never asked him how he felt about her loss. He was worried – about everything – and had no idea which way to point. Monica however. She didn’t want him to quit his job; that wasn’t to blame for baby John’s death. No buffalo either. God needs him, she said. For what? Well, “That’ll be the first question I ask when I meet him.” Until then, she and Tate needed a break, so she wanted them to accept John’s invitation to the spring meeting. Back at the ranch, Beth shocked Rip by also wanting to ride out with the cowboys.
“IF YOU THOUGHT LAST NIGHT WAS UNPROFESSIONAL…” | In Jamie’s office, he arrested Sarah for getting involved with him only for him to refuse to represent the state against market equities. The thing is, he added, the state is hiring outside attorneys. So if that was her [bleeped] him, she had done it – and him – for nothing. In response, she began to unbutton her dress. Since Kayce and his family were at the ranch that evening, John made the mistake of insisting that Beth, Rip, and Carter join them and Summer at the table. It didn’t go well. In fact it worked So bad that Beth suggested that she and Summer go for a walk.
Outside, the arch-enemies are beating each other over the ears. We’re talking brutallytoo — to the point where Beth headbutted Summer and Summer kicked Beth in the psyche. Eventually, Rip stopped the fight, shaming the women and telling them to stop rolling around and finish with some dignity – by standing up and taking turns punching each other’s socks. The summer cost a lot — a lot of a lot of! – but finally Uncle called, whereupon… Well, holy hell. It looked like Beth was ready to hold out an olive branch; She even cracked and then went back since “we don’t do that anymore.” Upon seeing the two after the brawl, John couldn’t help but admit to Rip that he envied Beth’s freedom.
“IF SEEING YOUR FAMILY DRIVE AWAY DOESN’T MAKE YOU CRY, THEY PROBABLY SHOULD NOT HAVE ANYONE.” | Before Beth rode off with her father, husband, brother, nephew, and a whole bunch of ranch hands, she — kindly — suggested that Summer use the two days that everyone would be gone to take a walk around the ranch to go. “Tell me if there’s a forest in America in better shape or more loved, tell me we’re the enemy.” Bidding goodbye to Kayce, Monica told him to “look out for our boy—he’s the one.” only one we have”. At least for now. “We’ll fix this,” Kayce said to his wife. With that he rode off, taking half of the cast with him.
