Zachary Levi’s DC friends come in handy as he fails twice with Marvel

In a turn of events that we could not have seen coming this time last month, Zachary Levi has become one of the biggest enemies of the SnyderVerse-supporting subset of DCU fans for two main reasons.

The first is that he posted a lengthy Instagram video effectively blaming Zack Snyder for the franchise’s initial failure, which is destined to piss off a lot of people online. Of course, those angry at his allegations refuted that he was only safe because of his friendships with James Gunn and Peter Safran.

This ties in seamlessly with the second reason why so many DC diehards have turned against them Shazam! star, with photos of Levi vacationing with the Safran family on a ski trip, which pretty much cements his confidence as part of the new era being built behind the scenes by the co-CEOs as we speak.

To be fair, maybe the lining Alum deserves some success in the comics sphere, as his two shots at Marvel Cinematic Universe glory were pretty much nothing. Levi was originally cast as Fandral in Kenneth Branagh’s Thorbut had to drop out at the last minute due to his small screen commitments, resulting in Josh Dallas stepping in.

Ironically, it was Dallas’ connection to television Once Upon a time that led to him dropping out The Dark World and Ragnarok, with Levi jumping at the chance to finally get his wish. In the end, his screentime was tiny and his contributions to the films even less substantial. So why not try to use his connections to the new top powers to ensure Shazam continues to live somewhere near the top of the DC tree?
